With our ATM or VISA debit/check cards*:
- All deposits at ATM machines will be subject to a three (3) to five (5) day hold.
- There is no fee for unlimited use of ATM terminals owned by SECU.
- When you visit an ATM not owned by SECU, you can make four (4) transactions per month with no State Employees Credit Union transaction fee. If you use your card at other financial institutions, there is a $1.00 SECU fee for each transaction over four (4) per month**
- You can access your accounts twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
- You can use your Visa Check/ Debit* card at any merchant with a point-of-sale (POS) terminal connected to the proper network as long as you have a checking account.
* Available on checking accounts in good standing. Check cards are subject to approval. Credit check and ChexSystem review are required.
** Foreign ATMs are subject to additional fees from their financial institutions.

Tips for Using Check/Debit Cards*
Merchants will give you the option to press "debit" or "credit" when using your check card. You always want to press "credit" and sign for your purchases so you'll gain maximum purchase protection against fraud and chargeback rights that will make getting refunds on previously purchased items easier.
